Starpath | Deep Green Aventurine, Copper, Brass & Sterling Silver Pendant

Some stones feel like standing in the forest after dark.

This one is the deepest green I have worked with, the colour of old pine and still water at night. Aventurine is traditionally a stone of opportunity, long carried for luck and steady good fortune.

Starpath holds it in a thin copper bezel, floating inside a brass oval. The field around the stone is oxidized dark, and across it, two arcs of small sterling silver granules travel like a path of stars, three at the upper right and four at the lower left. A sterling silver bail of linked hammered rings holds it all steady.

Turn it over, and the spiral is there. A sterling silver curl rises from the bail and coils against the brass, the path of becoming, beside my JN maker's mark.

For the woman who finds her way by her own small lights, and who walks it with her feet planted.

The Magic Within

Deep green aventurine is traditionally associated with opportunity and heart-centred growth. It is also associated with luck that builds slowly and steadily, and with meeting what comes next with an open hand. This is the darkest stone I have set for Threshold, and I think of it as the stone of the deep roots.

Copper is the metal of conduction. It carries current, warmth and intention, and here it wraps the stone so that what you hope for has somewhere to move.

Brass is the earth beneath you, steady and warm, the hammered frame that holds the whole piece. Rooted metal for a rooted woman.

Silver is intuition, the light of the moon. It scatters across the dark field as small stars, and it coils into the spiral at the back. The stars are the small lights that guide you when the path is not yet clear.

The spiral is the path of becoming. You do not return to where you began. You return at a higher turn.

I made this for the Threshold Collection, to honour the changing of the seasons. Wear it when you are standing in the in-between, deciding what comes with you.

Care: Copper, brass and silver develop a natural patina over time, part of their story. The dark inner field is oxidized on purpose, so please avoid polishing it. Polish the outer frame with a clean, dry cloth if you prefer it bright.
