Some rings you wear. Some you stand on.

The stone is the deepest, darkest forest green, large and oval, worn long-ways along the finger like a standing stone. Aventurine is traditionally a stone of opportunity, long carried for luck and steady good fortune.

Rootstone sets it in a copper bezel on a brass base, shaped and fitted by hand at my bench. The band is open, two brass wires joined by a single small cross-bar, so it wears with ease and lets the stone take the light.

Turn it over, and the ground shifts under your feet. The back of the plate is finished with a textured patina, the colours running between green, blue and gold like weathered stone. A small sterling silver spiral coils against it, beside my JN maker's mark. It rests against your finger, hidden from the world and known to you.

For the woman who stands on her own ground and wears her strength where she can see it.

The Magic Within

A standing stone is a very old kind of strength. It does not chase, and it does not hurry. It stays where it is rooted, and the seasons move around it.

Deep green aventurine is traditionally associated with opportunity and heart-centred growth. This is one of the darkest stones I have set for Threshold, and I think of it as the stone of steady ground.

Copper is the metal of conduction. It carries current, warmth and intention, and here it wraps the stone, so that what you hope for has somewhere to move.

Brass is the earth beneath it, steady and warm, the body of the whole piece. Rooted metal for a rooted woman.

The patina on the back is left as it is on purpose. Metal weathers the way stone does, and every colour in it was earned by time and fire.

The spiral is the path of becoming. You do not return to where you began. You return at a higher turn. Silver is intuition, the light of the moon, and I placed this one on the back against your skin, where your inner knowing lives.

I made this for the Threshold Collection, to honour the changing of the seasons. Wear it when you are standing in the in-between, deciding what comes with you.

Let this piece remind you... that you are rooted, and that you stand on ground you have earned.

Care: The textured patina on the back is intentional, so please avoid polishing the back of the plate. Copper and brass will keep developing a natural patina over time, part of their story. If you prefer the copper bezel bright, polish only the front edge with a clean, dry cloth. Please remove before washing hands or swimming, and keep away from lotions.
