The Returning | Green Aventurine, Copper & Brass Oval Spiral Bangle

Some power is worn where everyone can see it. Some is worn where only you know.

The stone is a deep forest green, scattered with tiny flecks that catch the light when your wrist turns. Aventurine is traditionally a stone of opportunity, long carried for luck and steady good fortune.

The Returning sets it in a fine silver bezel]bezel, ringed by a stepped band of copper and resting on a brass oval plate, each metal stepping out from the stone like the rings of a tree. Two sterling silver links join the plate to the band, and small brass sleeves hold the wires where they meet the silver. The band itself is two open brass wires, joined by a single small cross-bar, so it wears with ease and lets the stone take the light.

Turn it over, and you will find the secret. On the back of the plate, a sterling silver spiral coils beside my JN maker's mark. It rests against your skin, hidden from the world and known to you.

For the woman who carries her path within her, and who needs no one to see it for it to be real.

The Magic Within

The spiral is the path of becoming. You do not return to where you began. You return at a higher turn, carrying everything you have learned on the way around.

I placed this one on the back on purpose. A spiral held against the skin is a private vow, a reminder that your growth does not need an audience. It is yours, it is rooted in you, and it turns whether anyone is watching or not.

Green aventurine is traditionally associated with opportunity and heart-centred growth. I think of it as the stone of the first step, and this one, flecked with light, looks like a night sky seen from the forest floor.

Copper is the metal of conduction. It carries current, warmth and intention, and here it surrounds the stone in steps, so that what you hope for has somewhere to move.

Brass is the earth beneath it, steady and warm, the body of the whole piece. Rooted metal for a rooted woman.

Silver is intuition, the light of the moon. It holds the stone, joins the plate to the band, and coils into the spiral at your pulse. Your inner knowing is what connects what you carry to who you are becoming.

I made this for the Threshold Collection, to honour the changing of the seasons. Wear it when you are standing in the in-between, deciding what comes with you.
