Summer has a particular kind of magic.
It's not subtle. It doesn't ask permission. It arrives in full heat, demanding presence - and if you let it, it pulls something out of you that the quieter seasons keep tucked away.
For me, this season is deeply personal. My son was born during the Summer Solstice - the longest day of the year, the moment the sun is at its fullest, most generous expression. His arrival wove something permanent into how I experience this time of year - like the season itself became sacred in a new way.
When the Earth Speaks
This summer has not been quiet. Where I am, we have moved through smoky, heavy days carried in from northern fires, a state of emergency from flooding rains, hours without power - and in all of it, a sharp, humbling reminder of who is truly in charge. Nature does not ask for our permission either.
There is something clarifying about that. When the earth moves in ways we cannot control, we are invited to pay attention. To slow down. To remember that we are part of something much larger than our plans.
I have been sitting with that.
What's Moving in the Sky
I haven't been sleeping well lately - and I know it isn't just the heat. Jupiter and the Sun are currently aligned, and my body has been buzzing ever since.
In astrology and esoteric tradition, this alignment - sometimes called a Cazimi, or a "New Jupiter" cycle - marks a potent moment of rebirth, illumination, and expanded consciousness. The Sun purifies Jupiter's energy in its solar fires, burning away old dogmas and planting seeds for a new 13-month cycle of growth. Because this conjunction is occurring in the sign of Cancer, the invitation is deeply internal: emotional healing, ancestral roots, intuitive awakening, and redefining abundance not by what we accumulate, but by how safe and rooted we feel within ourselves.
Jupiter is currently invisible to the human eye - operating entirely in the unseen realms. You cannot see the light, so you must feel it.
That is exactly where I am right now. Incubating. Planning. Letting things burn away that no longer belong.
As a Virgo, this energy hits differently. The 11th House is activated - the house of hopes, community, and highest aspirations. For those of us who default to doing everything alone, doing it perfectly, the invitation right now is to dream bigger than logic allows, and to let a community hold us. To feel our way forward rather than plan our way there.
That is not always comfortable for a Virgo. But I am learning.
